Leather is one of my favourite materials to work with at the moment. It's got a gorgeous luxe feel and knowing you are using a quality product makes all the difference. These days you can get beautiful colour options too - I'm in love!
This blog is all about teaching you how to make a simple leather tassel. They are super easy to make and can be used in multiple ways, each time adding that luxe detail that takes your decor to the next level.
Ok now let's get started!
Measure up your tassel. Mark out a 15cm wide x 10cm high rectangle, and mark a horizontal line 2cm from the top.
Cut out this rectangle, as well as another piece which is 10cm x 1.5cm (this will become the hanger).
Cut slices in the rectangle up to the line you've marked along the top. I freestyled these and they worked out fine, even when I didn't cut them perfectly even (but you can be as particular and measured as you like).
Thread the ring onto your single strap piece, and secure it closed with a dot of glue. Then roll up your tassel! Just glue the hanger piece down on the bottom right of the rectangle, and then roll it up, gluing as you go.
And that's all there is to it, you've made your tassel!
Now that you've mastered the art of creating a tassel, you can make as many as you like and get creative with where these are displayed in your life! Here are some ideas:
